How does personal reflection help us to become good men?
In Upper School, daily Chapel talks invite boys to reflect on what it means to be a good person. Ongoing conversations with teachers, coaches, and advisors deepen this growth. And, through regular self-reflection, boys build character and develop into thoughtful, responsible young men.
What are the virtues and how are they formed? How can I engage in moral introspection about what is right?
Grounded in the school’s classical tradition, boys study the cardinal and theological virtues—prudence, justice, courage, temperance, faith, hope, and charity—and reflect on values such as respect, honesty, and kindness. This thoughtful engagement fosters moral awareness and character, preparing boys to lead with integrity in a global community.
How can sports help me grow as a person?
Through daily sports classes, as well as intramural and interscholastic competition, boys develop skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship—learning to win with humility, lose with grace, and honor the game. By respecting coaches, officials, and one another, they build resilience, strong character, and a lasting foundation for personal growth.
