Lower School Core Skills
Kindergarten, Omega, Grades 1, 2, 3
How does changing single commands within a program affect the way the whole program runs?
Working in teams as early as Kindergarten, boys guide robots through challenges—adjusting code, refining steps, and rethinking strategy as they go. In the process, they learn how even small choices shape larger outcomes, and how to solve problems by working together.
Grade 2
What does a successful and productive team look like?
In second-grade science, boys build cardboard chairs, ball runs, and forts—learning tools, testing ideas, and solving problems together. Along the way, they practice teamwork, persistence, and creative thinking in a hands-on, collaborative setting.
Grade 3
How do we combine knowledge and skills from science, math, engineering, and technology when we solve problems?
In a third-grade engineering challenge, boys design, build, refine, and race miniature cars—applying math and science to test friction, mass, and aerodynamics. It’s hands-on, team-based, and high-energy.
